Position summary:
Assist dentist, set up patient and equipment, and keep records.
Tasks:
Patient Care
- Active listening in a caring environment
- Take impressions and bite registrations
- Expose dental diagnostic x-rays
- Assist dentist during dental procedures
- Assist dentist in management of medical and dental emergencies
Patient Education
- Provide postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist in both written and verbal forms.
- Answers patient questions chairside
Staff Development
- Mentor junior dental assistant
- Provide leadership and organizational skills
Dental Fabrication
- Make temporary crowns
- Adjust permanent crowns prior to cementation
- Create NTI’s
- Make retainers
- Construct bleaching splints
